Fiat 500
On July 4, 1957, in Turin, Fiat presented the Nuova Fiat 500, a real icon of our times, with which Fiat concluded a revival that had begun straight after the Second World War. On July 4, 2007, exactly 50 years later, again in Turin, Fiat will present the new Fiat 500 which will be marketed immediately after the launch. And the new car will conclude an equally important cycle of revival for Fiat Automobiles SpA.
Developed by the Fiat Style Centre and manufactured in the plant in Tychy (Poland), the new 500 is a 3-door model with very compact measurements: it is 355 cm long, 165 cm wide, 149 cm tall and has a wheelbase of 230 cm, The car is extremely entertaining to drive, due to its three engines: a 75 bhp 1.3 16v Multijet turbodiesel unit and two petrol engines, the 69 bhp 1.2 8v and the 100 bhp 1.4 16v, all of which are available with five or six speed mechanical gearboxes.
The model confirms Fiat Automobiles SpA's undisputed leadership in this category - a result of its extraordinary heritage of technical, design and human experience accumulated in over a century - and it takes a quality leap forward in terms of comfort and safety, technology and equipment for this segment. The new 500 is the most up-to-date solution for the motorist who enjoys' his car in complete freedom, appreciates it for day-to-day use, but also wishes to drive a car that is entertaining and practical, environmentally-friendly and accessible, but also appealing and full of fun.

The EPA has released estimated fuel economy rating of 2012 Fiat 500 sedan and it looks like a compact car near the top of the list as a small hybrid cars, but 40 mpg.
When combined with a 5-speed manual transmission, 2012 Fiat 500 averages 30/38 mpg (city / highway), or 33 total. Replace the 6-speed automatic transmission and a Fiat 500 may be 27/34 and 30 mpg combined.

2009 Fiat 500 Barbie Concept Complete Details and Pictures
A special edition of the 500 designed to commemorate the 50th anniversary of toy icon Barbie. Created by Fiat Centro Stile and Mattel, the car was unveiled on March 9, 2009 in Milan's fashion district, and parked at the entrance to La Rinascente department store, in Piazza Duomo, where German singer Nena performed live in the background. The 500 Barbie Edition will also be making an appearance at Fiat UK's flagship store at Marylebone in London.
The Abarth 695 "Tributo Ferrari" is a version based on Abarth 500. The 1.4 Turbo T-Jet 16v engine is rated at over 180 PS (130 kW; 180 hp). It includes a MTA (Manual Transmission Automated) electromechanical transmission with paddle shifter, 17 inch alloy wheels with performance tyres, Brembo 284 mm (11.2 in) multi-section discs with fixed 4-piston calipers, "Record Monza" variable back-pressure "dual mode" exhaust, Scuderia Red body with Racing Grey wheels and rear air intakes, Magneti Marelli Automotive Lighting xenon headlights, "Abarth Corsa by Sabelt" seats in black leather upholstery with carbon fibre shell and seat base, black leather steering wheel with red leather inserts and a tricolour hub, Jaeger instrument panel, non-slip aluminium foot wells, Scorpion racing pedals, special kick plates and a plate bearing the vehicle series number. The vehicle was unveiled in 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show.
This special edition features a pink paintwork on the exterior; on the interior the seating is upholstered in strikingly soft fabrics: silver laminated Alcantara is not only trendy but plush to the touch and its glimmer bounces as far as the roof panel.Then there are mats enhanced with natural silk yarn and sleek viscose, not to mention lip glosses in brilliant colours stored in the glove compartment, plus a LED-decked vanity mirror to ensure perfect application.

The Fiat Idea is a mini MPV built by the Italian manufacturer Fiat since 2003. The car is based on the Project 188 platform, originally used for the second-generation Fiat Punto. Since its launching in 2005, Fiat Idea has already been a success. With its original lines, versatility and wide interior space, it balanced the dimensions of compact vehicle with the functionalities of a passenger automobile, bringing in diverse novelties to the segment.Technology was an important aspect in this formula. Skydome sunroof, brakes with ABS, airbags, hands-free with Bluetooth™, rain, parking and twilight sensors, among others, captivated the customers. Besides this, it was the only model of its segment to offer two Flex engine configurations.
In the following year, Fiat leveraged the automobile's concept to offer it in the Adventure version. Fiat Idea Adventure was the country's first minivan with a light off-road appeal: it united comfort and interior space of an urban vehicle to style and robustness of an off-road. This in a complete automobile, with an extensive list of standard items.
In 2008, another important advancement: Fiat Idea Adventure had received the differential block, the Locker. Fiat was the first manufacturer in the world to offer a vehicle with a differential block in a front-wheel drive automobile. Today, the entire Adventure family has available this important resource, which helps the vehicle to face difficult road conditions. One year later, the version received the Dualogic® Automatic transmission option, to make driving even more pleasurable.
Now, the evolution of Fiat Idea arrives into the market. More elegant, more performance and more complete, it has all attributes to pursue its course of success.
